Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can you provide samples of your stationery?
A. In most cases this is possible. Each sample request is dealt with on an individual basis. Samples are charged at the cost shown for that component and collection. For example, if you would like a sample of an invitation which costs £5.00 each and a reply card costing £2.00 each, the total you would pay would be £7.00 excl P&P. Your first 3 samples will be refunded should you choose Intricate Creations as your stationer.  Please Contact Us for more information on samples.

Q. Do you have a minimum order?
A. Our minimum order for stationery is 50 units per stationery item. Menu and Table Cards have a minimum order of 10. We can cater for small quantities but surcharges do apply.

Q. How does The Creative Workshop work?
A. Once you have contacted us, we will set up an initial 1 hour consultation with you. This is free of charge and is where we gauge what your needs are. Once we have a good grasp of what you need we will calculate a price and provide you with a quote. Should you choose to proceed a £100-£500 (depending on the design fee) non-refundable deposit is required which covers our costs for designing two personalised designs. Once you have seen and chosen your bespoke design, we will calculate the cost and a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required. If further design work is needed then a design fee will be charged at £75 per hour. The remaining balance will then be requested in full before we dispatch your items to you.

Q. I like a design but not the colours available, can I change this?
A. Yes you can. All of our stationery is designed and handmade here in the UK so if you like a card design from one collection, the ribbon from another and the colour from a third, we can combine all three to give you your perfect invitation. We offer over 170 different card types and colour, so we should be able to match your theme! Contact Us with any request, no matter how silly it may sound, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q. Can you print on dark or black coloured card?
A. We use state of the art digital printing, which means unfortunately we cannot print on darker card stock as standard. Have a look at our "Insert Colours" when choosing your stationery to see the full range of colours we can print on. Using special printing methods such as Lithography, Themography, Engraving, Letterpress and Silk Screen Printing, we can print on darker stocks, but surcharges apply. Contact Us with any request, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q. Is it possible to change the colours of the ribbon?
A. We usually select the most suitable colour to co-ordinate with your stationery. However, if you have something particular in mind then please contact us before finalising the order so we can try and accommodate your request.

Q. Is it possible to change the colour of the diamantés/Swarovski crystals?
A. We provide clear diamantés/Swarovski crystals as standard. However, the diamantés/Swarovski crystals come in a multitude of colours. Contact us for a colour list but please do note that cost of colour diamantés/Swarovski crystals are significantly higher thus, an additional £50 charge will apply.

Q. I have a font which I like but it is not one of your options. Can you use the font I prefer?
A. We have a large collection of typefaces and in most cases we would be able to use your font of choice. Although, (this is very rare) some fonts do require payment for its licence for use which will discussed with you before being added to your final bill.

Q. I could not find table plans as an option, do you provide these?
A. Yes we do. These are made on special requests please Contact Us for more details.

Q. What other stationery do you provide?

Q. Why does it take six-eight weeks after proof approval for my stationery to be delivered?
A. All of our cards are handmade and we take pride in the quality of our work so taking time and care on each order means that the delivery times are slightly long. Saying this, we aim to have orders ready long before the six to eight week deadline. Check in with us to know the status of your order.

Q. My wedding is soon, do you offer a rush service?
A. Yes we do. Our rush service is not advertised as we do not recommended rushing your stationery, but we completely understand that sometimes this is necessary. Give us a call and we can discuss your timeframes and see if it is possible for us to get you your perfect wedding stationery. Rush and Express services avialable.

Q. Do your prices include VAT?
A. Yes, all prices at Intricate Creations include 20% VAT.

Q. When should I order my stationery?
A. We recommended at least four months before the date of your wedding. This allows for any blips in the process and allows enough time to send out your invitations to your guests.

Q. Can I get printed proofs?
A. In most cases this will not be possible as the set-up costs for printing one invitation are too high. Our proofs are sent in digital format (PDF). This being said, special circumstances mean special allowances, so Contact Us and we will see what we can do.

Q. What do we do if we run out of stationery?
A. We always recommend ordering more stationery then you will need to allow for spelling mistakes when writing the invitations, or any last minute additions to the guest list. The general rule of thumb is 10% extra. Should you run out, you can order more, but please note that the per unit price will be higher than the price you paid as it will be under our minimum order.

Q. I have received my stationery and there is some browning - is this normal?
A. Yes this is perfectly normal. Due to the nature of laser-cutting, the paper/card is literally burnt so expect a little charring. We do our best to minimise this as much as possible, but some charring/browning is unavoidable.

Q. I love a design but can I change the size?
A. Of course you can. We can modify pretty much any design into any of our many invitation styles. This often means a fairly expensive design can be made cheaper just by changing the size. For example changing an A5 invitation into a 15cm x 15cm one will reduce the cost or even into a postcard to save even more. We can even use the other components such as menus and save the dates as invitations too. You call the shots!

Q. Does your stationery come with your branding?
A. Yes they do. We print the logo on the back of our card in a matching colour to your wording. Where printing is not an option (dark coloured card) we engrave our logo into the card which has a stunning effect.

Q. Can you print names on the Place Cards?
A.  We can print guest names onto place cards but not on all card-stocks (Printing on dark coloured card-stocks is not possible). This costs £1.25 each name. We can also have them hand written by our expert Calligraphy artists. Contact Us for more information.
